Fangirling, book adoring, story loving and cat cuddling writer blogging about her life.
Be sure to be entertained by the hilarious madness of fangirl confessions and check back for witty revelations and the fun projects I come up with!
Time for another confession!
This time I compiled a list of examples that will be a sure sign that you are a
fangirl. I may safely say that I do most of the stuff below and other things
may or may not have happened to me. Some things I used to do but not anymore. ;-P
So, for people who know me a bit better, it will be fun to guess at that. And
as life goes on, I will add points to this list. So be sure to check back once
in a while. ;-) (By the way, the list is not in a particular order.)
Behold, my list of madness!
I know, my condition is severe and there is no cure!
It's been a while since the last blog post, I know,
but I meant it when I said that I still care about this blog. Now follow me on
a journey through a dark forest of anxieties and doubts until revelations cast their
light past the top of the trees and show me the way out into the sunny meadow
from where I will strike out on the adventure of my lifetime.
Hello! Yeah, I'm still alive! Although, I'm expecting death by workload any second now...
I know, I promised in my last post that it will get better and there will be
more posts to this blog. I can only say that I really intended to do that and
wasn't lying to you, my readers. I also know that no apology is good enough
because everyone's busy once in a while. And maybe it's not the best idea to
start a blog in the final year of your studies, after all. xD The intention was
to write and have this blog as a diversion from the madness of the final year,
but somehow that didn't quite work out. (One reason could be the sedentary lifestyle
you already lead as a student. At the end of the day you just want to get out
for a while instead of hitting the keyboard again in your rare free time.)
Okay, and
now let's get to the fun part where I stop complaining about the hard student
life and share something special with you. ;-) Here's a treat for you!
This also kept me busy in the past few months and it is something creative that
distracted me from my thesis and so on. My friends and I worked hard on this
short film and I hope this will make up, at least, a bit for the lack of posts
on this blog until I am a better blogger! (Btw as good English students, we
filmed it in English. So, not to worry my English speaking friends! You will be
able to watch it too! ;-) )
So, without
much further ado, I proudly present Rosemary's
Paranoia by Queens of Horror Productions:
To be
continued... Stay tuned for Bloopers from the set! ;-)
I hope you can forgive me the lack of posts after I made a complete fool of myself dressed up as a bat, uhm, I mean Goth chick! ;-P
Let me know what you think about the brainchild of my fangirl friends and me in the comments!
Okay. This will not be one of these cliché posts with
thousands of apologies why this blog is not properly maintained. I'm fully
aware that I should still be posting, because there is not much more fun stuff
to do when you're in final year of English and American Studies in Austria. No
fun at all! This is supposed to keep me sane when I'm crushed under the immense
workload but that is exactly what keeps me from writing on here. Anyway, you
probably don't care about that and just want to read one of my fun posts full
of fangirling. Well, this time I have to disappoint all of my beloved fangirls,
but wait before you head back and give in to your facebook addiction. ;-P I'm going to show you what I've been up to...
I actually have been writing stuff. No, I'm not talking
about my boring BA thesis. I went on a Creative Writing field trip at Easter to
Brighton and it was just amazing. I don't have to tell you that I felt completely
at home again over there and coming back to Austria and uni life was extremely hard.
Just to show everyone that I still care about this
blog and have the desire to keep up the good work, I will let you read my two
pieces about Evelyn and Thomas - two characters I created in Brighton. Once the
insane workload gets more manageable and I am not a typing zombie in the
library anymore, I will come up with more fun stuff for my creative outlet on
the web.
So for now you might want to enjoy some of my more
sophisticated writing: ;-)
Brace
yourselves! After this post, I hope to have everyone convinced that fangirling
does not just involve silly obsessions with fictional worlds and its characters.
It can become so much more than that! It's a passion that fuels your existence
and distracts you from the hard or dull life. Fangirling sends you on an
emotional rollercoaster, to experience fun, fear and frustration (often all of
them in just one episode of a TV show or one chapter in a book xD). And don't we all enjoy a bit of drama in
our lives as long as it's not turning our own everyday life upside down?
This post
is for all fangirls out there, who are having a hard time and feel
misunderstood. I hope this helps you to keep doing what you're passionate
about. You are not alone! Just look at my previous posts! I'm as crazy as you
are! ;-P
First we had to figure out how Sherlock did it and now
we have another good few years to figure out how Moriarty can be back from the
dead or whatever this ending means!
I was thrilled to finally see the scene I watched
being filmed. On that amazing #Setlock day it was incredibly hot and sunny. Interestingly,
it looks so much darker and colder in the episode. Benedict and Martin must
have been so hot in their coats.(Well, they're hot anyway! Sorry! ;-P) And we
also get to see the inside of the restaurant in Cardiff in His Last Vow, which
I also visited in the summer. (unfortunately not on a Setlock day though)
First of all, Sherlock totally made up for all the
assholeness in the first episode! He even confessed what an arsehole he is! This
was the cutest episode ever!
The best man speech: just priceless! Sherlock makes
you hate him so much at first and then he says such sweet things and you love
him all the more after that. Seriously! How is that even possible?! And I have
to admit, I shed a few tears at the probably most awkward but also brilliant
best man speech ever. His wonder at all the crying was simply adorable and
funny. And that's how quickly I forgot my resolution from the first episode to
never let Sherlock move me to tears again. Your favourite sociopath: Knows how
to play people since 2010!
The reunion scene was brilliant and intense - just as
I expected. Every kind of emotion you can think of, any thought, was racing
through my mind. After waiting over 2 years for this moment, I sat on my bed
hugging my pillow, anticipation about to kill me. Then, a feeling of
awkwardness when Sherlock failed to get John's attention. (But it was funny at
the same time. xD) When John finally realised who was interrupting his marriage
proposal, I literally almost died of holding my breath. And I just loved it
when John tried to punch Sherlock. You're
right there, John! Go on! He has to suffer for what he's done to you! -
Sorry I got a bit carried away there! xDD
Warning: Might
contain mild exaggerations due to a semester of writing a BA paper for which I was
extremely limited in choosing a topic and reversed culture shock. So, ye be
warned of the drama in this post! ;-)
Rays of
sunlight stroke the corpse's cold cheeks, as he sleeps the slumber of the dead.
The alarm clock rings. With a groan the zombie comes to life and silences the
alarm. An imprint in the shape of a rectangle across the creature's face still
marks the spot where it fell asleep on a book before dragging itself to bed. Its
head falls back onto the pillow as the realization creeps into the zombie's
mind: It's another one of those days!
