Sherlock Review

Part 3: His Last Vow

First we had to figure out how Sherlock did it and now we have another good few years to figure out how Moriarty can be back from the dead or whatever this ending means!

I was thrilled to finally see the scene I watched being filmed. On that amazing #Setlock day it was incredibly hot and sunny. Interestingly, it looks so much darker and colder in the episode. Benedict and Martin must have been so hot in their coats.(Well, they're hot anyway! Sorry! ;-P) And we also get to see the inside of the restaurant in Cardiff in His Last Vow, which I also visited in the summer. (unfortunately not on a Setlock day though)

Surprisingly, I was quite calm during the episode, although I was so afraid before watching it. All the fuss about one day we all have to die was driving me mental! So, it's not like it wasn't an exciting episode. I just felt more like: this is so extremely unexpected that I can't even wrap my head around it or even react.

But let's start at the beginning: I have to say Benedict makes for a handsome hobo! ;-P An oh wow and a lot of respect for Molly! The way she was upset with Sherlock when she thought he used drugs. 3 slaps - pretty impressive! And Tom and her broke off the engagement! It would be interesting to know why!

The nicknames Sherl and Mike and John's face when he saw Janine coming out of Sherlock's bedroom was just hilarious! (You should have seen my face! I was torn between absolute disbelief and suspicion and amusement because of John's face.) And I knew right from the start that something must be terribly wrong, although for a second I wasn't sure if Moffat and Gatiss were going further than I ever expected them to go. Well, in the end it was just Sherlock being able to fake being with someone to that extreme and build up a relationship. It's impressive and disgusting at the same time. Well, just another coup of our favourite sociopath! And he even proposed to her!!! What a bastard! Can you even say that it would have been decent of him to actually go through with it and marry her? (Because he said he would.) I don't think so!

I actually wasn't that surprised when Mary was standing there with the gun. I already had a notion that she was somehow involved with Magnussen or under his thumb. (Because of a RadioTimes post where they hinted at the CAM message! A Spoiler Alert in the heading of the article would have been nice!) Anyways, during the episode it became more and more apparent that Mary wasn't who she pretended to be. The perfume was the best clue. Although she shot Sherlock, I still like her and I think she makes for a kick ass assassin!

I felt more sorry for John than for Sherlock. That poor guy always gets involved with psychopaths. But as Sherlock said, he's looking for trouble.

Magnussen is probably the scariest and most appaling villain I've ever seen. The power he has and then he uses it for fun to lick faces, wee in fireplaces and flick John's face. When you think about it, it's actually funny in a weird way. He can do whatever he wants, but that also makes him terrifying. He really deserves Sherlock's hatred and I didn't see that one coming when the detective who's on the side of the angels but not one of them shot Magnussen.

Benedict's parents are so lovely! I loved the part where they were about to have Christmas dinner, particularly because of the first episode: "Can you imagine the Christmas dinners?" "God, no!"

They can be such adorable brothers, though! ;-P
"Are you two smoking?"
Sherlock:"It was Mycroft!"
Mycroft:"No!"

Even Mycroft showed some emotions: "Also, your loss would break my heart." And Sherlock's so mean in return.
Mycroft: "Perhaps, there was something in the punch."
Sherlock: "Clearly! Go and have some more." And then there is actually something in the punch! *lol* Not nice, at all, Sherlock!

And as always a question for the end: Did it bother anyone else that Sherlock and John couldn't even hug before he left for his possibly fatal 6 month mission?!

And let's have a recap of the funny dialogue at the end just because I love the brother dynamic in this episode:
Mycroft: "How's your exile going, dear brother?"
Sherlock: "I've only been gone for four minutes. For God's sakes make up your mind!"

Me: xDDDDDD

What did you think of the last episode? Let me know how annoyed you are about the long wait for series 4! The most creative comment might get a surprise! ;-P
